Recommendations and limitations
- WebP at 82% is a practical starting point for photos. For text-heavy screenshots, PNG preserves exact pixels; if you choose WebP, raise the quality and inspect the result. The result card shows the real size change because some optimized files become larger.
- PNG is best for lossless graphics and transparency, but converting a photo to PNG usually increases its size. JPEG removes transparency and uses your selected background color.
- Animated GIFs are converted as a single still frame. Color profiles and metadata such as EXIF, GPS, and camera details are not copied.
- AVIF input depends on your browser's decoder. Output is limited to WebP, JPEG, and PNG for broad download compatibility.
